ISO standards allow the production of containers of different length, not only of standard cross section 8x8 feet, but also with significantly increased volume due to the change in height. High containers are assigned the designation HC (from the English High Cube), that means "increased volume". Abbreviation HQ having the same meaning is less common used. Used sea containers of 40 feet, the sale of which is carried out by Proftrans Company on the territory of Russia, can be used for transportation of goods and as universal constructions.

Used 40 HIGH CUBE containers may be increased by 0.5, 1.0 or 1.5 feet height, which increases its volume up to 15%. All other dimensions and characteristics remain unchanged in comparison with standard 40-foot container. Using high container it is very important to remember that its payload (P) is not increased, unlike volume.

To buy used 40HC container is possible from any container terminal of the Company. In case of the temporary absence of the required model, especially in the summer period when they are actively sold, the container will be delivered from another terminal. Usually high 40-foot containers are purchased as an inexpensive basis for:

• • producing country houses;
• • placing of power plants and various process equipment in them;
• • the construction of temporary hostels and sheds on remote construction sites;
• • for storage of goods.

The price of used 40 HC containers for storage depends on their condition, but in most cases, it is below the cost of construction of similar volume. Also note that for the production of containers high quality steel is used, and their assembly is performed exclusively by certified welders.

It is also important that used increased containers of 40 tons can be installed in several tiers. This allows constructing even a multi-storey residences or warehouses with limited space at the facility.
