The peculiarities of terminal work.
During big distance cargo shipping its important to take care of the goods safe keeping. The goods should be kept in proper conditions not only on their way to the terminal but also at the terminal itself.
Especially it is correct for short-lived foods – fruits, vegetables and dairy products. They should be stored in special conditions with the defined temperature and humidity.
When loads come to a terminal, they are placed in a special storehouse in wait of the further shipping. In accordance with the goods' properties the special storage conditions are selected.
Terminal work can be divided in 5 main stages:
1. receipt of goods;
2. handling of goods;
3. sending goods to the destination terminal;
4. handling of goods in a destination terminal;
5. taking goods out of a destination terminal.
For goods to successfully pass the delivery process it's not enough just to take care about their keeping in stores. The loads should also get a proper processing before placing in stores. For example, food products preserve their properties much longer when they are properly processed.
Some loads also require a proper unload/upload treatment. It considers fragile and breakable products which are easily damaged if handled in a wrong way.
For implementing all the required conditions for the secure terminal work contemporary engineering and special storage technologies are used.
