Chartering of vessels

Often, an impeccable impression of a performer's work is formed from his constant working condition. After signing a contract for the purchase and sale of goods between the Buyer and the Seller, it becomes necessary to use transportation services. To do this, one of the parties (buyer or seller) enters into a freight agreement or, more simply, charters a ship, usually for a long time. To search for a vessel and complete the necessary documentation, they often resort to the services of freight brokers who are well-versed in the situation on the maritime cargo transportation market.

If transportation is carried out with a regular time interval between certain ports, such transportation is called linear. There are also tramway transportation, in which the route of the vessel is determined after signing the charter agreement. Before it is signed, neither the ship's captain nor the shipowner knows where their ship will go.

The tariffs of tram transportation often fluctuate and are usually much higher than the amount of payment for linear transportation. An unpredictable route, various port surcharges and other excessive charges significantly increase the cost of transportation, which is reflected in the final cost of transported materials or products.
